Even the POET team was surprised: POET Technologies‘ new photodetector outperforms competition’s detectors twentyfold – enough so to develop it as a stand-alone product. Moreover POET Technologies provided evidence for mass production capability of its process technology, and thus took the last hurdle to commercial production. Das war sogar für das POET-Team eine Überraschung: Der neue Fotodetektor von POET Technologies übertrifft gängige Detektoren um das Zwanzigfache. Grund genug, daraus ein eigenständiges Produkt zu machen. Darüber hinaus erbrachte POET Technologies den Nachweis für die Massenproduktionstauglichkeit seines Herstellungsverfahren und nahm damit die letzte Hürde auf dem Weg zur Serienfertigung.
