At the Town Hall Meeting (THM) on 2016-05-17 in Toronto, POET Technologies presented its corporate strategy, after having acquired DenseLight Semiconductors and BB Photonics.

Executing Co-Chairman Ajit Manocha, good-humored as always, looked back at the last twelve months and gave an outlook for the next twelve: The past year brought significant personnel changes in the company’s management: Dr. Suresh Venkatesan has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO ), there are new people in the management team and new people in the Board of Directors.

Outstanding photodetector beats competition by multiples

Even the POET team was surprised: POET Technologies‘ new photodetector outperforms competition’s detectors twentyfold – enough so to develop it as a stand-alone product. Moreover POET Technologies provided evidence for mass production capability of its process technology, and thus took the last hurdle to commercial production.
