POET Technologies schließt Übernahme von BB Photonics ab

Die Akquisition von BB Photonics sei nunmehr abgeschlossen, teilte POET Technologies am Donnerstag mit. Damit besitzt POET sämtliche Aktien des Photonik-Startups aus New Jersey. Im Zentrum des Unternehmens stehe aber nach wie vor die POET-Plattform zur Herstellung monolithisch integrierter optoelektronischer Schaltkreise, betont POET-Chef Dr. Suresh Venkatesan. Ende 2016 will das Unternehmen ein erstes integriertes Produkt herausbringen.

Endlager wird überflüssig durch Partitionierung und Transmutation – Kommission schweigt

Die Endlagerkommission des Deutschen Bundestages kommt in ihrem vorläufigen Abschlußbericht zu einer gravierenden Fehleinschätzung in Sachen Partitionierung und Transmutation (PuT), einem Verfahren, das ein nukleares Endlager überflüssig oder zumindest sehr viel kleiner machen kann.
